On Friday, May 27, the jury in the trial between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp retired. We must wait for her return, scheduled for Tuesday May 31, to know the verdict normally.
It’s try of the year. Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have been fighting the Fairfax court for weeks. The actor slams his ex-wife for targeting him when she appeared in an article in the Washington Postreleased in 2018. So is the hero of Pirates of the Caribbean inquiry no less than $50 million to his ex-girlfriend. This May 27th was the last day of this much-noticed process. So the jury retired to deliberate.
The jury will then return to court beginning Tuesday because Monday is a US holiday. At this point it may well be that a judgment will be made. It may still be a few days, but this week fans of both actors will find out what the court has decided. Meanwhile, Amber Heard’s attorney, Elaine Bredehoft, made it clear that her client’s life was at stake “gone to hell” since the beginning of the process. “Just walking into that courthouse, sitting in front of the world and having the worst times of my life used to humiliate me… People want to kill me and they tell me every day. People want to put my baby in the microwave and tell me.” added the main concerned.
Amber Heard is in default during this process
She therefore asked the jury, composed of five and two women, to dismiss Johnny Depp’s complaint as a whole in order to leave the actress “Go on with your life and raise your child”. Amber Heard’s defense also insisted on the scope of this trial: “Think of the message Mr. Depp and his lawyers are sending to Amber and by extension to all victims of domestic violence.” the actress’ attorney explained before continuing: “This lawsuit is about much more than Johnny Depp versus Amber Heard, it’s about free speech. Defend them, protect them.” he launched to the jury.
