function

way of the champions

  • The draw concerns 20 teams: five direct participants and the 15 winners of the first qualifying round matches played on 5-6. and 12./13. were held in July.
  • Teams in each draw will be split equally between seeded and unseeded clubs according to club coefficient rankings. For first qualifying round matches, the coefficient of the club with the higher coefficient of the two clubs involved in a match that has not yet been played is used for the draw.
  • UEFA will form three groups for the Champions Path draw according to the principles laid down by the Club Competitions Committee: two groups of three games each (groups 1 and 2) and one of four games (group 3).
  • The balls with the names of the seeded teams/pairs are placed in one cup and the balls with the unseeded teams/pairs are placed in another cup. A ball is taken from each bowl and placed in a large empty bowl in the center where they are mixed. The first drawn team/pair plays the first leg at home.
