WWDC 2022: 7 new features that Apple will not present at the conference

We’ve seen what Apple should be re-presenting at its next event: the WWDC 2022 kicks off on June 6th with a highly anticipated conference.

Some of the products discussed show more or less certainty that they will arrive. Nevertheless, they all have their chance. On the other hand, regarding the list below, we think it’s better not to bet a penny on an announcement that will be made about it during the upcoming keynote.

As we know, the Californian company has been working on one for several years car related product. Long dubbed Project Titan, the latter is now more commonly referred to as the Apple Car in articles that mention it.

But while we regularly hear about patents, recruitment, and car-related technologies at Apple, at this point it’s still impossible for us to predict what the final product will look like. In the past there has been talk of an electric, self-driving car built entirely by Apple. Then, a few years ago, the project would have taken a turn with the idea of becoming just a service or software to be integrated into cars built by a third party. Recently, the hypothesis of the autonomous car produced by Apple has resurfaced, with an assembly carried out in collaboration with another currently unknown manufacturer.

Specialists have already gone there with good heart to predict a date from which Apple will reveal its first intentions regarding cars. The latest analysis by Mark Gurman gives the year 2025 B. Apple’s internal deadline for the launch of the Apple Car… Considering all these elements, we would not bet on a presentation of the project at the next WWDC.

Apple’s augmented reality glasses are another great project which would be underway in the labs in Cupertino. Tim Cook has expressed interest in augmented reality and virtual reality technologies on several occasions. And then the rumors and patents made public regularly mention advancements in the design of augmented reality glasses at Apple.

Some analysts are calling Apple Glass the last big thing in the Tim Cook era. Others have already laid out a possible timeline: helmet in 2022, goggles in 2025 and lenses in 2023. As explained in our article on probable announcements, we could be entitled to show one this year Augmented Reality Headset at WWDC. On the other hand, we have to wait a little longer for the glasses based on the elements we have received so far.

New MacBook Pro 14 and 16″

For other more classic devices, you’ll have to stick to the schedule of recent releases to try and see Apple’s intentions a little more clearly. MacBook Air, Mac mini, iMac and eventually Mac Pro are expected to peak on June 6th. On the other hand, MacBook Pro 14 and 16″ should be understated at the same time. These date from October 2021. It therefore does not seem possible that Apple will renew them in June or even in the summer. The time interval between two generations would then be far too short. Rather, we see these machines awaiting the release of potential new-gen M2 Max, M2 Pro, and M2 Ultra chips, perhaps later this year or next year for sure.

iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods 4

After all, you’ll know if you’re a regular follower and if you’re an Apple News devotee, Tim Cook won’t say a word about new iPhones and new Apple Watches during the upcoming WWDC conference. In fact, these two products in general renewed in autumn and presented at a conference usually held at September.

Regarding the AirPods, the classic version probably wouldn’t get an update before the end of 2022 or even next year as the latest generation launched last October.

Hope for iPads?

Finally, for the iPads, if we turn to Apple’s history, we realize that the tablets have rarely been the stars of WWDC. It happened once: in 2017 with the presentation of the first 10.5″ Pro model and the second 12.9″ Pro model. On the other hand, the last generation of the Pro models dates back to May 2021. It therefore does not seem impossible that the Californian company will renew its range of iPad Pro during WWDC. maybe with M2 chip ?

appointment next June 6thDate the next Apple Keynote to see if we got it right or not.

What product are you expecting in particular for this WWDC 2022?
