Sylvain Tesson, who lost his wife before the incident that disfigured her face, says: “There is an urgent need to stop having children.”

Sylvain Tesson has had great success in the world of literature. However, her personal life has not always been smooth sailing.

A few years ago, the famous travel writer endured a terrible ordeal in his life after a fall that nearly killed him. Note that he broke up with his partner just prior to this tragedy.

Luckily that’s all in the past, because the author of On the Black Paths is already living a whole new life. Without a desire to have children.

Sylvain Tesson is undoubtedly one of the most gifted writers of his generation. And rightly so, because his works have inspired many readers.

In addition, he has been highly rewarded throughout his career as a testament to his success. In his list of awards we can count in particular the famous Renaudot Prize for his short story “La Panthère des neiges”, but also the Goncourt Prize for the short story, won in 2009.

Consequently, it must be said that Sylvain Tesson has nothing to envy to the greatest names in literature. He leads a beautiful career, which he has always linked to his greatest passions: travel and stegophilia.

In fact, for those who don’t already know, the son of Marie-Claude Millet and Philippe Tesson spent most of his time scaling facades and roofs. Which sometimes seems dangerous, especially when he’s not protecting himself or when he’s drinking.

Also, that same passion almost cost him his life on August 20, 2014. As a reminder, on this day the famous author, who was spending a few days in Chamonix with his friend Jean-Christophe Rufin, wanted to prank his host.

To do this, he then decided to climb the facade of his friend’s house without protection in order to reach the balcony, which was about ten meters high. But suddenly he made a bad grip, which unfortunately caused him to fall over, then he fell.

Victim of head trauma, Sylvain Tesson was quickly rushed to a hospital in Annecy, where doctors diagnosed him with multiple fractures with a life-threatening prognosis.

Then he was placed in an induced coma, and he woke up only eight days later. And that was before he was transferred to a Paris hospital, where he spent a few months in rehabilitation.

It must be said that Sylvain Tesson had miraculously escaped. But the incident left some scars on him.

“(…) My life has been a hectic and slightly suicidal carnival (…) I still have facial paralysis (…) I’ve also lost hearing in my right ear (…)”,

he said in an interview.

It is known that before this drama that almost took his life, the one who loves climbing the roofs ended a relationship that lasted two years. This is the romance he lived with a woman named Bénédicte Matin.

The beautiful brunette is also a writer like him. She has written many books and has received several awards for her work. In 2004 his first book entitled “Warm Up”, a collection of erotic short stories, received the Prix Contrepoint de Littérature française. In 2014 her book “La Femme” was selected for the Prix Renaudot.

Before dating the explorer, the author had a long love affair with Jean-Paul Rouve, a very famous actor with whom she had a child.

If Sylvain Tesson kept his life with the beautiful brunette a secret, on the contrary, he told her story in a book she wrote in 2018: The Necessary Man. In the book she tells the ups and downs of her eventful and passionate love story.

We can see in the book a woman who has been madly in love with the adventurer since she was a teenager. A wonderful, erotic couple brought together by a passion for writing. According to Stéphane Million, the book’s editor, “Some pages are very hard on Sylvain Tesson”.

Although they were together for two years, the couple had no children. The reason is that the author has admitted to being a pedophobe, he wants to leave this earth without leaving any descendants.

His love story, the drama of his life and his many journeys, Sylvain Tesson tells them and sometimes mentions them in his books or in his interviews to inspire people. But what about his future? The answer is simple! The famous writer is not one looking to expand his clan.

And he’s already made that very clear, as he did in an interview a few years ago.

“I am a pedophobe! We are already 7 billion on earth, it is urgent not to have more children! (…) Filial love is a selfish love in a logic of photocopier reproduction of oneself”,

he mentioned.

It has to be said that Sylvain Tesson’s life has changed completely since his terrible fall in August 2014. However, the bestselling author has always retained his adventurous spirit.

In addition, the man of letters, crazy about stegophilia, did not take long before he resumed his passion. Note that he has been climbing walls with ropes ever since. For the traveling author, the time when he risked his life is now over. At least, that’s what he implied in an interview.

“I’ll never go up the gutters alone again. I want to do nice mountaineering again, it’s about gonzo teenage climbs”,

he promised.
