Résumé State of Play 13 septembre 2022

State of Play live: Here are all the announcements for future PS5 and PlayStation VR2 games

Finally this speech comes from PlayStation! The new State of Play, awaited by countless players, was announced last night and will take place in a few minutes from 11:59 p.m. Of course, the date is not chosen randomly, Sony is organizing this small twenty-minute conference only as part of the Tokyo Game Show, which starts on Thursday.

Unfortunately, this does not prevent the company from being among the big absentees from this important meeting for players in Asia. Nintendo earlier today with a new 40-minute “Direct” to discover future Switch games, including the famous The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, which will be released on May 12, 2023. Two Japanese companies continue to shun the others from gaming events. That was the case last month during Gamescom.

Anyway, PlayStation fans are still entitled to their little surprise tonight with State of Play. In any case, the week promises to be rich and intense in the video game industry, with around thirty conferences expected between Thursday and Sunday at the Tokyo Game Show, including Xbox, Square Enix, Capcom and Konami.

Where can you follow the status of things?

As usual, to follow the event from 11:59 p.m. (French time), you must go to the official PlayStation YouTube or Twitch channel. Unfortunately, as always with State of Play, the show will not air on French channels.

What to expect from the State of Play?

Tokyo Game Show week commits, we must: “A new presentation brings you amazing updates from our incredible Japanese partners and some surprises from other developers around the world”. It will certainly make you dream on paper, but still moderate our expectations and don’t let our emotions and our hopes get the better of you.

On the schedule, Sony announces a small 20-minute conference to showcase 10 games that are “coming soon to PS5, PS4 and PS VR2”. Note that the PlayStation VR2 is scheduled to be released “early 2023”. So the “soon” means that this State of Play could reveal games that will be released between late 2022 and early 2023.
