Badminton: Imperial Venkatasubbaiah Sisters in Germany
The 55th International Lake Constance Youth Tournament made Neuchâtel happy. In Friedrichshafen, Germany, Gitika Venkatasubbaiah (BC La Chaux-de-Fonds) won the U13 women’s singles and doubles with Julietta Dübendorfer.
His little sister Lolita doesn’t miss out either. She won the U11 singles tournament. Elia Jeanfavre (BCC) took third place in the U19s and second place with club partner Aylin Raminhos.
In the men’s doubles, Léo Boichat (BCC, M19) took third place with Maxime Rigo from Geneva. BC Neuchâtel’s badman Nicolas Briancourt (M15) shone by winning doubles with Aymeric Charbonnier and finishing second in singles. / FCH
Triathlon: Very good performance by Valérie Schmidt
La Chaux-de-Fonnière’s Valérie Schmidt made a very good return to competition this weekend at the Kraichgau Semi-Ironman in Germany. After injuring her right leg, she finished second in her category (ladies 40-44).
Fourth out of the water (30’36” over 1.9 km in a lake), she managed a great climb on the bike with a time of 2h44’15” on a very hilly route (90 km, +1400 m). Party in the lead on a not entirely flat course (1h39’41” over 21 km). She was caught in the last kilometer to finish in 5h00’45”, 15 seconds from the first in her category and ranked eleventh out of 252 competitors in all categories.
For this recovery, she is very content with her feelings. /COME JCE

Ice hockey: Arnaud Schnegg at HCV Martigny?
HCV Martigny are interested in striker Arnaud Schegg, 21. The Valais club sent him an offer that also includes a summer test in Visp in the Swiss League. If he accepts this proposal, he would be in the squad of HCV Martigny in the Swiss Regio League (3rd division) with the possibility of being called up to Visp via his B license Arnaud Schnegg, trained at HC La Chaux-de-Fonds ( HCC), played 49 games with Ajoie (1 goal), last winter, in NL, last winter. Athletics: Wins for Alexis Perroud and Bradley Lestrade
The young Neuchâtel athletes are in good shape. Over 200 meters, he blocked the clock at 8:89 p.m. (+1 m/s wind), a hundredth more than his personal best time. “My season has started on very good foundations,” he says happily before flying to Ostrava (Czech Republic), where he will take part in an international meeting with the Swiss team this Tuesday, May 31st.
For his part, young Alexis Perroud (17 years old, CEP Cortaillod) won the first race of his season over 400m/hurdles in the M18 at the Langenthal meeting on Thursday 26 May. With a time of 55”63 which is an excellent time (his record is 54”78, he surpassed the qualifying line for the U18 European Championship (56”20) it is also the best Swiss performance and should enable him to take part in this continental championship, which will take place in Jerusalem (July 3rd to 6th).COME JCE

Basketball: Marin’s daughters become Swiss U14 champions
Outstanding performance for Marin’s daughters. A year after losing the final against Lancy, the Neuchâteloises won the title of Swiss U14 champion. They won a “Final Four” in La Chaux-de-Fonds.
On Saturday, May 28th, the team of coach Stéphanie Boué and Nuria Pazos defeated Bellinzona in the semi-finals with 61:53. In Sunday’s final, the Marinoises delivered a veritable win over Allschwill 52-37. / RED
